Project: Server Room Move / Rebuild
Client: Vancouver 24 Hours
Synopsis: Macintosh Servers and Cisco Routing equipment was to be moved from one location to another. A new network topology was introduced in the new location that included VLANs and QoS.
Key Features:
- Full remote VPN administrative access
- Seamless integration to existing Intranet
- Automated onsite and offsite backup
- Increased security because of the VLAN introduction
Key Achievements: Many problems occur during this move due to contracted companies not fulfilling their commitments, fast and decisive action was needed on my part. As a result of my actions the paper was able to publish on time and without incident.
Project: Network Rebuild / AD Integration
Client: Best Buy /Future Shop / Quebecor World
Synopsis: Moved over 50 clients to a new XServe and XRAID with full AD integration. Introduce a Open-Directory replica server and redundant RAIDs with fiber switching.
Key Features:
- Full Active Directory Integration
- Networked Home Folders
- Macintosh Servers handled permissions while the users were push by the AD
- Increased Network productivity by introducing a stable redundant RAID
Key Achievements: Resolved many issues the client was having in their network such as network collisions and slow speed due to congestion. Got rid of an old NAS system and replaced with redundant fiber switched RAIDs and servers. Full backup and redundancy of all systems insured that all data is safe and secured.
